New URGENT Community Action Initiative (read until the end)
We’ve all asked, “What can I do to help?”

Here’s one answer
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be launching a series of focused email campaigns. Every few days, we’ll highlight a different elected official, agency, or decision maker, along with background information and key questions to consider.
You don’t have to be a public speaker or attend every meeting to make a difference. If you can send an email, you can help.
Change doesn’t happen because one person speaks up, it happens when hundreds of respectful, informed residents use their voices together.
Let’s make sure our concerns are heard. One email at a time.

Our first action is an email campaign organized by the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) asking Congress to establish guardrails for large data center development.
If you’ve never participated in an email campaign before, it’s simple. You’ll enter your information, and the platform will route your message to your members of Congress in your name. In many cases, you can also review or personalize the message before sending it.
Whether you agree with every word or choose to edit it, the important part is making sure your elected officials hear from the people they represent.
